One of the core features of ReportBase is the generation of charts to visualize results of monitoring checks. There is a collection of different chart types supplied by ReportBase to meet different needs.

All these chart types and their appearance are highly adjustable, there is a lot of settings (Chart Properties) to allow for an individual "look and feel" in each chart.

Chart Types

The following table provides some examples for charts that are available in ReportBase. :

Image Type Example Purpose
Pie Chart RB PieChartExample.png This is a chart type to display a status, be it actual or as a summary over a time period (availability). It is based on 4 different strings (like OK, Warning, Critical, Unknown)
It can be used for hosts and services.
The pie chart can also be used to display the status of just one Host/Service ore multiple hosts.

Ring Chart RingChart Example.png The ring chart is used the same way as the pie chart, in fact it is a special form of the pie chart.

Multiple Pies Chart RB PieChartExampleMultichart.png This is a chart to display the status of multiple hosts. It is a subclass of the Pie Chart. For each single host in the list, a single little chart is created and they all are put into one chart.

Dial Chart DialChart Example.png This is a chart type to visualize a service check, that returns numbers. Even though it could be used for displaying values of a time period (showing the arithmetical average of the values), it normally would be used for the actual status of a service check.
Meter Chart RB MeterChartExample.png This also is a chart type to visualize a service check, that returns numbers. Even though it could be used for displaying values of a time period (showing the arithmetical average of the values), it normally would be used for the actual status of a service check.
Time Series Chart TimeSeriesChart Example.png With a time series the numeric out put of a check can easily be presented as a time series, which allows to see the development of the returned values over a given time period.
Thermometer Chart ThermometerChart Example.png This is another chart type which is well suited to visualize an actual state of a service check returning numbers.

There will be more chart types being available in the next releases of ReportBase.
